IWF is a world leading charity and self-regulatory body that works in partnership with the online industry, police, government, and international partners to minimise the availability of child s*xual abuse material online. We are the most successful hotline in the world: when we were founded, just over 20 years ago, 18% of known child s*xual abuse material was hosted in the UK. In 2016 this had fallen to 0.1%.

Our work is increasingly global in nature. We deliver trusted technical services internationally and our 130 members include some of the largest internet companies in the world.

At a strategically important time, as we seek to retain and build upon our global position, we are seeking a new Independent Chair to succeed Sir Richard Tilt, whose six-year tenure ends in December and at the same time, we are recruiting two new Independent Trustees.

We wish to appoint Independent Trustees who will support the Chief Executive and the new Chair to shape IWF’s intent through ambitious, creative, independent, and informed thinking.

We are looking for individuals with substantial strategic leadership and governance experience. We are particularly looking for individuals with a background at a senior level in law enforcement and the law but we are also open to individuals with experience around the broader criminal justice sector and beyond. Your experience could have been gained in the private, public or not for profit sectors. In addition, given our role as a self-regulatory body, an understanding of regulation is desirable. Most importantly, the new Trustees will share IWF’s commitment to our vision of elimination of child s*xual abuse images online.
